AIM status fix (POTENTIAL) - 2005/05/05 21:36 Ok so after being frustrated as to why only some of my buddies showed up under AIM I think I finally fixed it.

How ever yamigo matches your AIM buddy names must be case and white space sensitive but AIM names are not.

I orgianaly had a screen name formated as "Joe Shmo" and that would never show up as on line or what ever but I changed it to "joeshmo' and there it showed up.

You need to change the name in your Account settings using AOL's client.

I haven't tried other solutions but this works for me and hope it fixes for other people too.

Re:AIM status fix (POTENTIAL) - 2005/05/06 03:57 Yep It appears that Yamigo is case and white space sensitive. I changed the capitalization on one of my contacts and it now shows online when their online.

P.S. I can't get the fetch contact thing to work.

Re:AIM status fix (POTENTIAL) - 2005/05/10 16:44 I currently can't sign on to AIM whatsoever as of this weekend. I've never been able to have anyone show up as being online, regardless of how their name is typed or entered. This whole system is more trouble than it's worth half the time. Any ideas people?

Re:AIM status fix (POTENTIAL) - 2005/05/10 19:15 I have been able to log in no problems, but my buddies aren't showing up again (at the time it worked changing the name ) I think that AIM might have changed their system recently because I can no loger login to AIM from 2 different applications like I could before. I wouldn't blame the people here, and so far I have had no real 'trouble' with the system.

Re:AIM status fix (POTENTIAL) - 2005/05/11 14:14 Loggin in was never a problem for me either.. however no matter how I changed my screen name or my contacts regarding the space/underscore/removing the space entirely.. nothing worked and I still can not see anyone as being online. messages CAN go in and out.. but only if I innitiate, and even then it may take the full poll time before I see a responce (up to 2 minutes). but the status issue still remains as far as I know
